When it is pelting down with rain on a freezing cold Winter’s night, there is nothing I love doing more than hibernating indoors and relaxing in a long, hot bath. What particularly appeals to me about this bathroom is both the warmth and luxuriousness of the room, created by the freestanding copper bath, and bespoke cabinet that complements the wooden ceiling. This bathroom is featured in the book ‘Michael S. Smith Kitchens and Baths’ by Michael S Smith and Christine Pittel (£29.95, Rizzoli), which is available to order from Waterstones. In today’s hectic world, creating a sanctuary in your bathroom might be just what you need to feel rejuvenated again…

Oh, that is fabulous! The wood textures make it look old-English, whereas the jade coloured bath stand brings something of the orient into the room. I agree – Long hot baths are the way forward!
